Genesis 7:

A) 21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth,

B) both of fowl,

C) and of cattle,

and of beast,

and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth,

D) and every man:

E) 22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land,

died.

E) 23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground,

D) both man,

C) and cattle,

and the creeping things,

B) and the fowl of the heaven;

A) and they were destroyed from the earth:

and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

 

Above is how the text reads in the King James version of the Bible however below is how the words were actually written in Hebrew. Its interesting how the translators of the Bible altered the chiasmus considering it bad English grammar form.

 

(translating literally from the Hebrew):

a There died on the earth

b all birds,

c cattle,

d beasts and creeping things,

e man;

f all life

g died

g and was destroyed.

f Every living thing

e both man,

d creeping things,

c cattle,

b birds,

a were destroyed from the earth.
